Since the new year, I've been thinking about what kind of fun event we can hold. As I was thinking about this, things progressed smoothly, and we decided to hold a strawberry picking tour with the Mitoyo Toy Factory in April together with the travel agency, the car shop, and the school's strawberry farm! Yay!
One-day woodworking experience and strawberry picking tour
- Date: Saturday, April 17, 2021
- Location: 726, Saitakami, Saita-cho, Mitoyo-shi, Kagawa Prefecture [School Strawberry Garden/Nakayoshi Library Toy Factory] Located next to the school grounds and the school building.
- Meeting place: Meet on-site and disband on-site
- Access: Kobe Awaji Naruto Expressway - Takamatsu Expressway [Get off at Zentsuji IC]. Take the general road and you will arrive in about 30 minutes.
- Estimated time: Depart Kansai at 9:00, arrive at 12:30, 1 hour lunch, strawberry picking starts at 14:00♪
- Strawberry picking hours are from 1pm to 3pm.
- Woodworking class hours are from 1pm to 5pm.
- The tour will be held at the same location, so if you come during business hours, you can enjoy the tour. The tour schedule before and after the tour can be freely decided by the customer.

This time, I'd like to introduce a plan for a day trip by car from the Kansai area. If this is successful, I'd like to do it as a two-day, one-night trip in the summer. Now, let me introduce the outline of the tour.
Strawberry picking at the school's strawberry garden
The grounds of the former Zaidakami Elementary School have been turned into a greenhouse where you can enjoy strawberry picking until May. Enjoy all-you-can-eat delicious strawberries for 40 minutes.
It looks very delicious. Strawberries are rich in vitamin C. If you eat about 10 strawberries, you can get all the vitamins you need for the day, so eat 10 strawberries!
We also have ice cream and other souvenirs available★Afterwards, we will move to the next school building.
Woodworking experience at the school next door: Make your own chopsticks
You can make your own chopsticks for your family. You can choose from a variety of materials and have names engraved on them. You carve them with a plane. It's definitely fun for beginners (^^♪
We have about 10 kinds of domestically grown hardwoods for our materials. Since we are a wooden toy factory, we provide materials that are usually used. We collect wood from all over Japan, including Kochi, Gifu, and Akita. The grain and scent of the wood are different, so it's fun to choose.
What's more, you can write your own name with a branding iron. Even if you make a mistake and it gets a little crooked, that's the taste of handmade. Please take it home as a memento of the tour.
Making your own original watch - Additional options at extra cost -
For 4,800 yen (tax included), you can create your own original clock. Choose from a variety of wooden parts and create a unique clock for your home (^^♪
There are so many wooden parts. The clock itself can be made quickly, but everyone takes their time choosing the parts. Once you glue it together, it's all over. Think carefully and make a clock that you can use for a long time.
The Nakayoshi Library Toy Factory uses the old Zaidakami Elementary School building as it is. It is a new school building, but it still feels nostalgic for adults. And for children, the usual school life they are used to is now a toy factory. They are sure to enjoy this unique atmosphere.
This is a worthwhile day trip from Kansai.
