I went to Kochi and Kobe for training!

On September 17th and 18th, I went to the Kochi factory and Kobe store for training!
This was my first external training since joining the company in March, and I learned a lot.
Here's a little introduction to what it's like:

My first solo flight!

It's been a while since I last rode on a plane... since my school trip!
I wandered around a bit and got lost, but managed to board just in time!
I was so excited about the next two days and the flight went by in a flash (^^)

Kochi Factory

We arrived in Kochi in about 1 hour and 15 minutes!
We immediately headed to the Kochi factory and met up with the members from the Kobe store.

At the furniture factory, I saw the process from logs to finished products.

Every step of the process was packed with the unique attention to detail that only Nakayoshi can provide, but I was especially surprised by the rounding of the corners!

The corners of a round cypress table are being rounded by hand.

First, we use a machine called a trimmer to round the edge to the specified size, then we switch to a file and polish it by hand.
Because we carefully look and touch the stone while polishing it, we are able to create a roundness that can't be achieved by machine!

I usually just stroke them without thinking much about it, but when I learned about the manufacturing process, I found Nakayoshi products even more adorable, and I wanted more people to know how wonderful Nakayoshi is!

Kobe store

Now it's day 2!
On the second day, we held a study session at the Kobe store.
It was a very meaningful time as we were able to share information about each other's stores and align our understanding, something we normally don't get to do.
Although Kobe and Kichijoji are 400km apart, we have a strong sense of being teammates working together to make the store a success!

I learned a lot during these two days!
Now it's my turn to share what I've learned with many customers!
I will utilize this experience in my daily customer service.


I have one regret...I was only able to eat one bite of the authentic Kochi bonito, so I hope to eat a lot next time I go (^^)/
