The charm of wood begins at the front door

There's plenty of charm right from the entrance!
Just building this entrance must have been a lot of work, I thought to myself, but when I looked at the base of this lovely entrance, I saw that there was wood embedded in it! (My eyes were drawn to the broadleaf trees.)
I'll try smelling it right away (laughs).

Next to the entrance, there is a beautiful showcase displaying toys. Among them, we found tempura made by Nakayoshi Library!
Thank you for decorating it!

Even just the entrance was so full of charm that time flew by.
Inside the Toy Museum

On the wall to the right of the entrance, there are Director Ichiguchi's building blocks, each with a name engraved on it. The names of those who donated through crowdfunding are engraved on them. The triangular rice ball mountain inside the building blocks will remain with the donor, and it will return home when they come to play.

Baby Wood Education Plaza

Crawling space for babies♡
The floor is made of cedar boards, so it is soft and smooth to the touch.
You can play with peace of mind!
There is also a wooden ball pool where you can play pretend games.
I'm really glad that there are so few nursing rooms and diaper changing rooms in shopping districts.

Sanuki Forest Square
There was a forest inside the toy museum.
There are 36 trees of 17 different kinds lined up.
If you look closely, you'll see a hole! If you look inside, you'll see a sticky bug hiding there.
There's something nostalgic about playing with the tree like this. I played while thinking about how I used to be able to handle bugs when I was a child.

Mame Mame Pool
A classic wooden ball pool at the Wood Education Plaza!
They weren't balls, they were all egg shaped!
Among the 4,500 pieces, there are Udon Brain Balls and Acorns hidden.
I had a hard time finding it
The newly completed Mame Mame Pool had a wonderful cypress scent and I felt like my whole body was bathed in phytoncides.

Lacquer slide
A lacquer slide made by the Kagawa Prefectural Lacquer Art Research Institute.
Apparently it's been painted in 15 layers.
As people skate on it, the lacquer will peel off, revealing a new look.
I wonder if the vermilion color comes out in places that people touch often?
The more you play with this lacquer slide, the more complete it becomes. How wonderful.

Nakayoshi Library Production/Wasanbon
Kagawa Prefecture is apparently famous for Wasanbon, but I'm ashamed to say that I didn't know much about it until I was asked to do this.
When I looked into it, I found out that they are very cute sugar candies.
We designed and produced Wasanbon, which is packed full of the charm of Kagawa.
There is a magnet on the back, so you can stick it on or put it in a case for pretend play (^^)
Hiro-san really worked hard on this.
It is uncolored and expressed only with the color of the wood.

Gokkou udon restaurant/tempura making
And we even got a request for tempura!
I thought it would be difficult to express tempura using wood, but Hiro-san managed to create it.
As expected!
The tempura turned out very delicious.
Of course, this is also uncolored, and is expressed only with the color of the wood.
By the way, chikuwa is a branch.

There are many other attractive places!
