About the school
Fukuchiyama Tanyo Nursery School in Fukuchiyama, Kyoto Prefecture, practices a childcare style that allows children to learn while playing in order to develop emotional stability and self-expression. Every year, we deliver lockers and storage shelves for the nursery school, and we also visit the school when we are on business trips to the Kansai region.
A simple locker.
The request was for a simple locker to be placed in a newly constructed annex. A counter was already installed, so we made it to fit perfectly underneath.
Cherish natural materials
The nursery school uses a tatami room, which is rare for a nursery school. The adjacent room has flooring and wainscoting made from local Kyoto wood. The nursery school places great importance on building with natural materials, and our cypress lockers blend in perfectly.
1 box: bag for one person
Each simple wooden locker, which can be used by one person, is equipped with a stainless steel hook on which to hang a bag.
Creator's Column
About a year and a half ago, at the end of March, deliveries to nurseries peaked. Just when we were relieved that we had finished making the products in time, we had to spend two days visiting nurseries in the Kansai region, as the delivery company was too busy to deliver the products on the scheduled date. The staff had their hands full with the production. When we arrived in Fukuchiyama, a homey, relaxing nursery was completed. The scent of wood is the best after all.
