In late March 2020, we delivered wooden storage lockers to the Higashi Nagasaki Ohisama After-School Club in Nagasaki City, Nagasaki Prefecture. We have previously delivered wooden child lockers, tables, chairs, and other items to the operator, the Ohisama Social Welfare Corporation, and this spring, when the after-school club opened, we introduced furniture from our Nakayoshi Library.

The sunlight filtering in through the windows illuminates the entire room, and the space, which uses plenty of natural wood for the floor and ceiling, is a perfect match for Nakayoshi Library's proud cypress furniture.
By placing furniture made of cypress, you can create a sense of unity and warmth in the entire room. Also, because it is elegant and not too assertive, it will blend in with a variety of room spaces, from chic to modern.
Especially in after-school care, it is important to separate a play space with lots of toys from a learning space where homework and teaching materials are used .

Nakayoshi Library products listen to the opinions of users, including individual customers and kindergarten teachers, and use them to create new products and improve existing products. The lockers we delivered this time were also designed to be easy to use by considering the background of the user.
All of the furniture we delivered this time is equipped with casters.
The system is designed to allow female teachers to move around smoothly when changing the layout or cleaning , without straining their backs or bodies. Rubber casters are also used for heavy furniture to prevent damage to the floor.
The trick to keeping things tidy is to label what is in each room and where it should be put away. Children are not as good at tidying up as adults think, so labeling things is very important.
Unlike sticker-type labels, the labeling is a snap-in type, so even if you change the item you place on the label, the snap-in type has the advantage that it leaves no sunburn marks or sticky residue when removed .
We believe that labeling lockers will reduce the amount of work and unnecessary tasks for teachers, such as the time it takes to replace signs and the time spent searching for items.
The height of the lockers this time is 90cm. Inside, there are about 20 rows of movable shelves. At first glance, it may seem like a lot, but the size varies depending on the childcare content and what you want to put there at the time. Also , by only placing one toy on each shelf, we have devised a way to make it easy to choose what you want from the many toys and teaching materials.
The wood education activities we can carry out are to incorporate wood into people's lives and help them experience the charm and fascination of wood.
The pieces of wood processed from logs are assembled by artisans into furniture one by one. Handcrafted products have a unique smooth texture and a scent that makes you feel like you are in the forest.
Because these are things that children will come into contact with on a daily basis, we want them to be able to experience the quality of wood with all five senses, without cutting corners.
"I wish there was a product like this...", "Custom-made furniture seems expensive...", "I wonder if even small things like this are okay...", etc. You may feel something is off about your current environment, but you can't take the first step. Working together with us to solve your concerns one by one will lead to a product that satisfies you.
We would like to utilize our experience selling directly to customers, daycare centers, kindergartens, etc., as well as our experience interacting with children on a daily basis, to deliver products that can be used with confidence.

Looking at the shelves we delivered about two years ago, they have aged and turned amber, and there are signs that they have been used a lot. However, we believe that all of this is the unique "character" of solid wood, and we feel that they will continue to be useful in the nursery school.
Unlike products that are replaced every two or three years, these products can be used for 10 or 15 years or more, which means people will grow attached to them and they will be highly valued at daycare centers. I am glad that I was able to be present at this memorable delivery.
