Both Nakayoshi Library's Kochi Factory and Mitoyo Toy Factory will be closed for the Obon holiday from today until the 14th (Sun). Every year at this time, I plan to redecorate my room or do some crafts, but this year, I'm suffering from a herniated disc.
Locker replacement work at Sakurai Kindergarten
We went to Sakurai Kindergarten in Kochi City to replace the lockers. Mr. Chikamori and Mr. Aoki were in charge.
First, we start by removing the existing lockers. They are quite old, but they were installed when the building was newly constructed, so the floors were installed later.
This is going to be a lot of work to remove... The wall and base are now exposed. Now we'll build the new cypress lockers to fit perfectly here.
We're going to make the base for the furniture, called the "makuban." If this isn't straight, the locker will be distorted when it's placed on it. We'll do it carefully, making sure the thickness is consistent.
This place is carefully made by Mr. Chikamori, a former carpenter. Mr. Chikamori says that carpentry is fun after all. He is the youngest member of Nakayoshi Library, but he is really reliable.
Once the front board is complete, the lockers made at the factory are placed on top and secured with screws. They are made to the same dimensions as the previous lockers, so they fit perfectly with no gaps!!
After installation, we cleaned up the place and delivered a new play kitchen. We cleaned everything up to the last detail. We cleaned everything up to the last detail.
Check that it is properly level
The back boards are all made of cypress, so the lockers are complete. There are three of these. It took a whole day to make.
Mr. Aoki and Mr. Chikamori, who were in charge of the construction, and the rest of the production team, delivered another wonderful locker to the children today, and we were able to improve the childcare environment. Wood cut in Kochi Prefecture is sent to a local nursery school in Kochi. This is a local production, local consumption job. We will continue to do this in the future ♪
