A nationwide nursery school management company

Putting "uniqueness" at the forefront

Mommy's Family operates dozens of nurseries across the country, and in order to provide the same level of service at each nursery, they were standardizing the furniture they use. In other words, they were developing their own original nursery furniture that was not commercially available. Nakayoshi Library's strength is their ability to produce to order and in small lots. They can also provide products at reasonable prices without going through wholesalers, so that was a commonality between the two companies. They also sympathized with the company's philosophy of childcare, and so they put all their effort into producing their original furniture.

Size

The furniture is for small-scale childcare for 0-2 year olds. The height is adjusted between 60cm and 70cm. One floor is divided into three large rooms, but the depth is adjusted so that it does not feel oppressive and the children cannot easily move it even if they touch it. The rooms are divided by a combination of toy shelves, doors, and partitions that can be used as play houses.

Since Kids Pao Dogo Aozora Nursery School will serve as a model for the company's nursery schools across the country, we considered the option until we were satisfied.

Original Design

The Botchan Train blends in with the Dogo area with its retro feel. As it can be seen parked at the station from the garden's windows, the shape of the Botchan Train was cut out of wood on the surface of the partition. Natural wood holo was used to express the front and back views. This unique design will enhance the garden's originality.

If you request production, we will also hold an on-site meeting. From taking measurements on-site to arranging the delivery date, and if installation work is required, we will also arrange those meetings. We will proceed with the project with as little burden as possible for the teacher in charge, so please feel free to consult us about even the smallest details.

Minimize the use of harmful substances

Nursery furniture and teaching materials for children. What we value is to use them as close to natural as possible. We use only real wood and only a small amount of adhesive. In nursery schools and facilities where many children gather, there are children who are sensitive to chemicals. In order to create an environment where everyone can use them comfortably, we are particular about using wood that is easy to process and does not use cheap materials.

At Nakayoshi Library, we make nursery furniture to order. Since it is made to order, we can make anything that is physically possible, but as a nursery school, we have a set budget for nursery furniture. Therefore, we will first ask you about your budget and wishes, and then we will make a proposal.

In the initial stages of the meeting, we will first ask you to show us the floor plan, and then we will conduct a hearing based on that, and present you with a proposal and an estimate. Why choose wooden furniture?

It seems that more and more kindergartens, nurseries, hospitals, etc. are choosing wood over plastic or steel to create spaces for children. When I talk to teachers and representatives on-site, they say that wood has an outstanding feel, appearance, and scent.

One of the characteristics of wood that artificial materials do not have is the change that occurs over time. The cypress used in the Nakayoshi Library is natural wood from Kochi Prefecture. As you use it, it will change color to amber, and scratches and dents will become part of its character, allowing it to be used.

A step towards a circular economy

Kochi Prefecture boasts a forest rate of over 80%, making it the prefecture with the highest forest rate in Japan. The mountains where cypress and cedar trees grow are kept safe by repeatedly cutting down and replanting, which protects the mountains and people from disasters. Where do we use the cut trees? We use cypress harvested in Kochi Prefecture as our main material, turn it into valuable wooden products, and provide them to our customers, thereby making our small contribution to the protection of the mountains. We would like to contribute to society by providing many children with the abundant resources from the mountains and the valuable charm of Japan in the form of nursery furniture.
