Carp streamers at Netz Toyota Nishinomiya Terrace ♪
Last Saturday, the popular Koinobori Workshop was held at the Nets Toyota Kobe Nishinomiya Terrace. Many customers participated in the two-part event, held in the morning and afternoon.

As per usual, we start by telling the "interesting story of wood" through a Kamishibai (picture storytelling). This explanatory Kamishibai was born from a simple question from a child: Why does wood feel good to use? However, there aren't many adults who can explain it. So the store manager, Mr. Kawazoe, explains it through a Kamishibai (picture storytelling) that is full of a handmade feel.
A word from the manager of Nets Terrace

The store manager also introduces Nakayoshi Library to us every time. Most people don't know that it's a wooden toy store in Motomachi, Kobe. In this way, we do our best to promote it every time. Please come and visit us.
By the way, the store manager also came to the toy factory in Kagawa and joined the woodworking and strawberry picking tour. He knows the shop and is very enthusiastic about the conversation. Thank you! (^^)!
This workshop is open to the local community, whether customers who come for an oil change use the time to bring their children while they wait, or Nakayoshi Library customers who live in the Nishinomiya area. It's a homely event that is open to everyone, regardless of whether they drive a Toyota car or not. By creating an environment where everyone is welcome, I think it's great that a store can be a place where people can casually drop in even if they're not planning on buying a car. (*'∀')
By the way, Netz Toyota Nishinomiya Terrace also has a dog run. I guess it's because of the local conditions around here, but there are a lot of customers who bring their dogs.
In this way, Netz Toyota Kobe aims to expand its reach and allow customers to spend their waiting time meaningfully, so the Nakayoshi Library visits each store every week.
Event announcements can be made at Netz Toyota stores or through the Nakayoshi Library Instagram, so please be sure to register (^^♪
The workshop has started!!

The workshop will be completed in about an hour so that children can have fun. Choose your favorite wood grain and stick it on with glue. If mom or dad helps out a little, the finished product will be even more beautiful.

Once the mouth is attached, the next step is to attach the scales freely using various types of wood. There are as many ways to attach the scales as there are children. You can attach as many scales as you want, and wherever you want them. Sometimes they come up with some innovative designs that will make you look twice.

The highlight of the day is attaching the scales. The children are concentrating hard on it.

While I was doing that, the glue hardened. Oh, I made a nice carp streamer! If there are any areas left unpolished, I'll polish them some more. *The dad next to me commented, "You should polish it more," but that's also the best part of a workshop that parents and children can enjoy together! (^^)!

Then, mom or dad can help finish it off, and finally, draw in the eyes and write in the name of your choice to finish it off☆

You have to be very careful when engraving the name, otherwise it will end up distorted, so first make a careful sketch in pencil.

Now it's time for the real thing! We'll use a hot pen to add eyes and write letters. The tip of the pen is very hot, so it's a good idea to have your mom do it for you.

A cute carp streamer with smiling eyes♪ Thank you for your hard work. The finished carp streamer looks very happy.

Add the eyes and it's done! It's a one-of-a-kind carp streamer that is cute to display and can also be played with by babies . The workshop will give children a different experience from their usual daily life, with only an hour's wait. Nakayoshi Library Kobe store regularly holds events, so please apply♪
I'll be driving around in an orange toy car like this~ **I told you I'm doing a workshop today. See you later**

At Nakayoshi Library, staff members come up with ideas for workshops using scraps and other materials that are generated when making furniture and toys. *We want to help children experience the comfort of wood and put to effective use as a sustainable resource, so that we can put into practice the effective use of wood in a visible way. We would appreciate your support! We may be a small company, but we want to spread the word to many people.*
