How to play by age

10 months to 12 months

Once a baby reaches 10 months of age, they will show an interest in sticks and will try to grab them. They will start trying to put things in containers and handing them to others. When playing with a stick, start by showing them how to do it. It's okay if they can't put the stick in the hole. At first, babies are not able to play continuously at this age, so it's important for mom and dad to play together. It's a form of communication between parent and child, and it becomes "play" for the child.

18 months and up

They start to use their fingers more dexterously. Unlike 12-month-olds, they are no longer limited to putting in one stick, but can perform the same action repeatedly. When the stick is gone, they can also turn the lid over in a continuous motion, allowing them to concentrate and play.
