When you open the door, you will find two adjustable shelves (three levels). You can adjust the number of shelves to suit your needs.

How to use it as children's furniture?

There are many reasons for having doors, such as "I want to hide what I store inside," "I want to protect it from dust," and "I want to make the interior look neat." Therefore, it is convenient to store things that are used frequently on a daily basis inside. For example, for elementary school students, it is school supplies such as writing utensils and communication notebooks. It is easier to understand if you store them in commercially available boxes or baskets by classification.

The drawers we recommend for storing clothes are made of natural cypress and cedar, which have a nice scent and a natural insect repellent effect, so you don't need to use chemical agents such as insect repellents.

Recommended point 2: Use it in a natural state.

The main material used for the furniture at Nakayoshi Library is Japanese cypress. It is a high-quality material that is about 50 to 70 years old. Since there are few knots and only the best parts are used, the material cost is not cheap, but the longer you use it, the more it will turn amber and improve in luster. As time goes on, artificial wood grain "looks" are often used, but considering the harm to humans caused by harmful substances released from adhesives, we still prefer to provide natural wood for children.

Recommended point 3: Uses safe and natural paints

The process that Nakayoshi Library spends the most time on is painting and polishing. The corners are carefully finished so that they don't hurt when you touch them. They are polished many times to give them a smooth finish. And then there's the paint. We use vegetable-derived Libos oil for the paint. We polish and finish the pieces by allowing vegetable oils such as linseed oil to penetrate the wood. As it is not a petroleum-based paint, it has no unpleasant odor and brings out the wood grain. Best of all, it is harmless to the human body so you can apply it without a mask. Of course, we use the same paint for our toys as well.

Wooden furniture adapted to children's height

The furniture was created with the concept of "children's furniture for when they enter elementary school," so the height is around 100cm. That's about the same height as second and third grade elementary school students, so it's the perfect height for children to use.

Easy to use height

In daycare centers, it seems like children tend to put their bags down more than they hang them up. It's nice to have the tops of the furniture as neat and tidy as possible, but in elementary school, you can use them to place books, store your backpack, display your favorite items, or whatever you like.
