To Otaru
I went to Otaru, Hokkaido. It was my first time in 20 years. The main theme of my trip was to interact with the study group members, but I decided to bring my family along too.
First, on the first day, we went to Mt. Moiwa to see the night view of Sapporo. We arrived earlier than expected and it was too cold on the mountain. So we decided to look at the night view from the ropeway on the way back. The city of Sapporo is huge!
The next day, I pulled myself together and headed to Otaru. It took about an hour by train to get there. Otaru is a seaside town that once prospered through trade, and its canals have become a tourist attraction. There were apparently about 10 banks there alone.
You can also experience canal cruising, and the old town remains intact. The nostalgic atmosphere is amazing! The abandoned warehouses have been renovated and now house restaurants.
I wanted to eat Genghis Khan! My friend introduced me to a recommended restaurant that he had heard about from locals. It was a place that I could eat without any unpleasant odor.
The seafood is gorgeous and delicious! And the price is reasonable too.
I think I had a good experience. It was a month of crossing Japan from Okinawa to Hokkaido. I guess I still don't remember things when I'm one year old, but I hope I can find a lot of new experiences. Anyway, starting today, I'll focus on my work again. See you later.
