Hello. I'm Shimojo, a staff member.
Recently, we held a workshop at the Kagawa Mitoyo Factory, inviting five students from a school in Tateyama, Hyogo Prefecture. This time, they took on the challenge of making wooden drawers.
Before the workshop, we had a tour of the toy factory.
I think it was a great opportunity for everyone to see up close how toys are made.

The toy factory is a closed elementary school, but everyone listened to explanations of the toy-making process in each room and toured the factory intently. I learned a lot from seeing the machines that are not usually seen and the staff working with concentration.

Now the workshop has begun. It will be held in the science lab.
This time we will make drawers using hinoki wood.
First, learn the steps to making a drawer.

Everyone is working seriously while listening to detailed explanations from the professionals.

It was heartwarming to see them working together and helping each other out ^_^

We took a commemorative photo with the finished drawer after polishing it beautifully.
The students were a little nervous at first, but by the end they had opened up a little, and when I waved goodbye, they all waved back ^_^
I would be happy if this experience through manufacturing could be of use to you young people in the future. I hope you will continue to take on new challenges.
