Mitoyo City, Former site of Takadakami Elementary School

三豊市 財田上小学校跡地利用

Use of Takada Elementary School in Mitoyo City, Kagawa Prefecture!!

This year, elementary schools in Mitoyo City, Kagawa Prefecture, were consolidated and closed.

We have a precious connection with someone working at Mitoyo City Hall,

We have decided to use the site of the former Zaidakami Elementary School, a closed elementary school.

I am truly grateful.

Our company will be on the school building side, and Shikoku Kubota Corporation will be running the school strawberry garden on the grounds.

We began preparations in November of this year, aiming to open in the summer of 2017, as an "experience-based facility."

We are considering proposing an experience-based facility that the whole family can participate in, such as woodworking, pottery, and glasswork classes.

A "school strawberry garden" is planned to open on the grounds.

The facility, run by Shikoku Kubota, will allow visitors to pick strawberries.

We opened a booth at the "Baby & Kids EXPO" held at Tokyo Big Sight in July!

Our products were highly rated by buyers from department stores and retailers across the country, and despite it being our first time opening a store, we received a very positive response.

We have received inquiries about doing business with several specialty stores, so we will be carefully expanding our sales channels so as not to damage the brand's value.

Kochi Prefecture's Ochi Town declares Wood Start!!

Tokyo Toy Museum http://goodtoy.org/ttm/ Ochi Town will be the first in Kochi Prefecture to start "Wood Start," run by the Japan Good Toy Committee (Yotsuya, Setagaya Ward).

To put it simply, this is an initiative that aims to help children appreciate the quality of wood by touching it from an early age, and to change their attitudes towards wood.

For more details, please visit http://mokuikulabo.info/ws/

Therefore, in municipalities that have declared Wood Start, a "First Toy" program has been established in which babies born in the same year are given locally produced wooden toys.

It has been decided that Nakayoshi Library will help with this first toy for Ochi Town!!

A baby set made from cypress wood from Kochi Prefecture!! We make one set for each baby every year.

As a woodworking company, we believe that increasing opportunities to come into contact with wood is an important mission.

We will use this opportunity to work hard to expand this initiative to other cities and towns.

"Tomoyuki Hamada" was featured in the local Kochi Shimbun newspaper!!

As a young toy craftsman, I'm looking forward to 10 years from now.

Apparently, woodworking machines are also used in class, so the students seemed to have a good grasp of the skills.

We want to keep our original intentions and continue to create our products with care!!
