Company trip

社員旅行

Starting last Thursday, for two days, Nakayoshi Library went on its first company trip to Western Japan, visiting a jeans factory in Kojima, Kurashiki City, Ako Onsen, and the Toyhof Kobe store.

Kagawa's Udon Restaurant Susaki's Large Serving of Warm Udon

First, we filled our stomachs at a udon restaurant near the Mitoyo factory in Kagawa Prefecture.

This is a famous udon restaurant , Susaki Grocery Store, which serves delicious udon noodles.

The price for two balls is 300 yen. It's cheap. And then, to the jeans factory in Kurashiki = 3

Nakayoshi Library Company Trip
Jeans Factory [Betty Smith]

At the jeans factory in Kojima, Kurashiki, everyone is making jeans to be used as uniform pants. However, it only takes a few seconds to button them up. After having the length cut, the jeans are ready in about an hour.

Select the button.

Here... I wanted to use this as reference for the clock-making and chopstick-making classes that are also held at Nakayoshi Library. I thought that it would be hard to feel like I made something because it only took about 30 minutes, but when I actually tried making it, I found that this "selection process" was super fun!!

There was so much variety that it took about 15 minutes to choose. The selected buttons were then fastened with a machine like a sewing machine, which was surprisingly difficult...

If it shifts even a little, it will stop in a strange place and will not move again.

Carefully and carefully... and sure enough, I made a mistake...

Inside Betty Smith's factory

I couldn't see it because it was my lunch break, but the jeans factory is full of sewing machines. It's comfortable because it's air-conditioned. We should learn from the cleanliness. A clean factory feels good.

We all made jeans.

We all made pants for the uniform. Jeans are super hot this time of year, but I'll try my best to wear them. I made them and then later discovered they were short pants... Damn... I should have made them short. By the way, Tomoyuki's jeans are really short (lol)

Air conditioner malfunction...

On the way, when we arrived in Okayama, the air conditioning in the minibus started to malfunction, and while sweat was pouring down my face, the air conditioner was unable to restart...

While we were making jeans for the uniforms at the jeans factory, a replacement bus arrived from Kochi!! Thank goodness♪

Upgrade!!

And, my accommodation for the night was Donkairo in Ako Onsen, Hyogo Prefecture!! It was a wonderful inn with a panoramic view of the Seto Inland Sea. The price was only 16,500 yen per night!! With a full course of seafood, an open-air bath, and the excellent hospitality of the inn staff, I was able to forget about work and relax☆

I hope we can all go again next year. Let's work hard again starting today!!
