The Go To campaign starts tomorrow. Personally, I'm going to relax at home and not go out anywhere, spending my days reading and working in the fields. I have work to do, but just having a day off makes me feel better. I hope the weather is good for the next four days.

Last week, students from Silk Dream Nursery School in Sannomiya, Kobe came to the Nakayoshi Library Toy Factory in Kagawa for training♪ This was part of an initiative to help children become familiar with natural materials.

You can take a tour of the toy factory.
At the Nakayoshi Library toy factory, you can see toys being made, from carving the wood, to cutting it into toy shapes, to painting, packaging, and shipping.

There are many pieces of wood lined up in the material storage area. Because the building is an elementary school, the hallways are very wide. In each classroom, you can see the work being done.

Since production starts after receiving an order, you cannot see the stock, but you can see the intermediate stages of the toys that will be delivered to customers. The photo shows the toys being painted.
I think that in our everyday lives, we tend to "buy" things rather than "make" things. I hope it will be refreshing for people to see how things are created in this way.
Experience using a jigsaw in a woodworking class!
After the tour, we all had the chance to actually make something! We held a woodworking class in the science lab, which is very convenient because each table has its own water and power supply.
I once again realize that the school's facilities are well-equipped.

You can freely use the jigsaw to make pencil holders, original miscellaneous goods, and puzzles.

Although the items to be made in the woodworking classes are somewhat decided, you are generally free to make whatever you like. Choose a board of your desired size and use a jigsaw to cut it into any shape you like.
Many people will be using a jigsaw for the first time, so please be careful! As you get used to it, your speed will increase.
It took about two hours. Everyone was working hard on their craft. There were many teachers who were so absorbed in their craft that they said they could do it all day.
Children from about the fourth grade of elementary school can use a jigsaw with ease, so please come and try it out when you come to our toy factory in Kagawa. [Reservations are accepted]

Some teachers even used a hot pen to carefully write the nursery school logo. They plan to display it at the nursery school.

Everyone was able to complete it in about 2 hours (^^♪ You can experience woodworking in a short amount of time. The cost is from 3000 yen. Thank you to everyone at Silkdriver Nursery School ☆
