Good morning. Yesterday, we visited the companies of the study group members as part of a project to visit other companies.
Akisuisan is a company in Sanuki, Kagawa Prefecture. It is one of the leading squid processing companies in Japan. They were the first to introduce squid somen to Japan, and now they sell processed products made with bigfin reef squid caught near Indonesia and octopus caught in Sanuki City to corporations and households. I had the chance to try their squid somen bowl.
All-you-can-eat squid somen noodles, octopus and squid tempura, and a soup made with puffer fish broth! It was the best! By the way, the restaurant is open to the public only on Saturdays, so please come and visit.
When I visited and talked to them, I found out that in addition to their fishing company, they also established a school in Indonesia and ran a temporary staffing company.
It is becoming harder to buy fish in Japan every year. Even if you go to a supermarket now, the fish section is shrinking. I would like to eat domestic fish, but the number of people working in the fishing industry continues to decrease year by year, and the average age is rising.
In an effort to somehow put a stop to this, Akisuisan has started a business that arranges for the dispatch of human resources from primary industries such as fishermen and forestry, mainly from Indonesia, to Japan. Rather than simply looking for workers, they are nurturing human resources who will study in Japan and work globally in the future.
The work of Nakayoshi Library is also possible thanks to forestry companies. Now that the shortage of people to carry on the primary industry has become a social problem, I felt that it was time for us to think about the future.
See you later.
