Montessori Teaching Equipment Shelf Rental
Ms. Koga is the owner of a Montessori preschool in Tatebayashi City. She opened the school while studying Montessori education and working as a nurse.
Montessori tools are essential for running a Montessori classroom. The tools have a set weight and shape, and it would take a lot of money to get all of them. Koga-san was able to get a lot of tools, but there was a lack of furniture to store them neatly.
It is not enough for a shelf to simply store things, but it is very important that it is easy for children to see, take out, and put away in order to encourage them to "try it out!" Also, it is important to arrange the teaching materials with some space between them, rather than arranging them crammed together.
All of the furniture rented to Koga-san was custom-made. I was entrusted with making the furniture, which was easy for children to use, and I realized once again that a simple and versatile shelf is indeed a good piece of furniture.
Montessori education is likely to become even more popular in Japan in the future. The classroom is located in a residential area of Tatebayashi City, Gunma Prefecture, but many students come from far away to use the classroom, inspired by Koga's teaching methods and passion. We at Nakayoshi Library would like to develop furniture that will help children's development, while also being involved in the rental business.
