The Iroha furniture series is 65cm high, which is slightly below the eye level of a 2- to 3-year-old. Since the human eye is normally directed downwards, when using Iroha furniture, tools and clothing are arranged in a position that is naturally visible in everyday life. Adult furniture such as regular chests of drawers, storage shelves, and bookcases are very difficult for children to use. This is because they all tend to make the eye look upwards. Children's furniture is made with a child's eye level in mind, and it is important that this eye level makes it easy to recognize objects.

The top surface has a 5cm rise on each side and back. You can use the top surface to place picture books, display your favorite things, or play with toys. Highly resistant to mould and moisture

The main body is made of cypress from Kochi Prefecture, and no plywood is used. The bottom of the drawer is a single piece of cedar from Nara Prefecture. Cypress and cedar are woods unique to Japan. They are the best suited to Japan's hot and humid climate, absorbing moisture from the room when it is humid and releasing it when it is dry. They are excellent at regulating moisture, so they are great for preventing mold.

No chemicals used

The cypress used for the furniture itself has a natural insect repellent effect, so insects do not come near it. Therefore, you can use it as it is after opening the cardboard box without using insect repellents that contain a lot of chemicals .

Safe and natural paint

The furniture itself is coated with vegetable-based Livos oil. Usually, paint is applied once, but at Nakayoshi Library, we apply two coats and polish the furniture carefully. Of course, this paint is a natural oil that does not contain chemicals, so you can use it with confidence. If you apply it regularly after purchase, the color and luster will improve and the luxurious feel will be further enhanced.
